Company Profile

Fenton Simpson Fenton Simpson Financial Services was formed in 2003 by Directors Mark Fenton and Chris Simpson. Lifelong friends Mark and Chris were neighbours throughout their childhood in York and have since followed very similar career paths. Chris being slightly senior to Mark started with the Halifax Building Society in 1984 where he learned the basics of how mortgages worked and also, and importantly, how they were designed, funded and administered.

Three years later Mark then joined the same branch of the Halifax and again received the same basic grounding in the mortgage market. Mark followed Chris into the Estate Agency environment working as a mortgage consultant for Reeds Rains before moving to Hunters the Estate Agents where he was Financial Services Director for 10 years.

Fenton Simpson During this time Chris worked as a mortgage consultant for General Accident Property Services in Kings Square, York (now Your Move). Following mergers with Commercial Union and Norwich Union Chris moved into a full Financial Planning role. Redundancy forced Chris into a change and he joined Mark at Hunters. It was here that the idea of forming their mortgage brokerage was born.

With the addition of a highly experienced adviser, Elaine Sweeney, the company is able to reach a greater number of clients through securing business partners who are looking to offer their clients first class mortgage advice.
